Google Maps’ new Immersive View will allow you to get a better, more ‘real life’ look at a particular location in the Google Maps application. The Application users will now experience what a location, landmark, or even a restaurant will be like.
The images behind Immersive View are all computer-generated, a combination of Google’s satellite captures and its Street View shots. As you move through them, it looks like playing a video game on medium graphics set in a precisely scaled real world. “We’re able to fuse those together,” says Liz Reid, a VP of engineering at Google.
Google also noted that users be able to use a “time slider” to see what a particular location will look like at a different time of the day. Notably, you’ll also be able to look up the local weather and traffic conditions to plan your trip or a visit to the given location in a better way.
