Disney Pixar’s Inside Out 2 has officially crossed the $1 billion USD mark at the international box office, making it the first animated film to achieve this milestone.
Out of the 55 films that have grossed over $1 billion globally, only 12 have reached this benchmark solely from international markets.
Although Disney’s 2019 Lion King hit $1.1 billion USD, it was considered a live-action film rather than a computer animated film.
Inside Out 2 is the highest-grossing film of the year, earning $1.649 billion USD worldwide, including $1.002 billion USD overseas and $646.3 million USD domestically.
This success adds to Disney’s strong summer lineup, which also includes Deadpool & Wolverine and Alien: Romulus.
