Samsung’s newest products, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G smartphone ($1,799.99) and the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G ($999.99),will be available on Aug. 27. With discounts of up to $800 and $650, respectively on the devices plus monthly payment plans, the devices will be within reach for most consumers.
The new products “will firmly establish Samsung’s dominance in this advanced category of devices,” said Anisha Bhatia, senior analyst at Global Data, in a statement commenting on Samsung’s unveiling of the devices this week.
“Both foldable phones are priced lower than their predecessors and are more durable,” she said.
The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G smartphone ($1,799.99), which has a brighter, more responsive AMOLED screen can be pre-ordered now.
The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, which sports brighter, more responsive screens of 6.2 inches when closed and 7.6 inches when opened, seems to target clients who are more into productivity and multitasking. You can have three apps operating at once and use an S Pen to take notes on one half of the Fold3 while attending a videoconference on the other.
The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, also with improved displays of 1.9 inches closed and 6.7 inches open, will be coveted by influencers and social media mavens. Photos and videos can be taken while the Flip3 is fully open, in flexed mode and its compact closed mode – with a double press of the power button, swipes of the screen and then a screen tap.
Samsung also unveiled Galaxy Buds 2, $149 buds that come in different colors with noise cancellation and a long battery life.
Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Watch4 (starting at $249.99) and the Galaxy Watch4 Classic ($349.99- all due out Aug. 27.
