WHITNEY HOUSTON’S “THE BODYGUARD” IS SET FOR A REMAKE

“The Bodyguard”, a 1992 romantic thriller that starred Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston is getting a Hollywood remake.

The film grossed 411million dollars worldwide.

The bodyguard is considered to have the best-selling soundtrack of all time and the best-selling album by a female artist of all time. The soundtrack features five songs; “I will always love you”, “am every woman”, “I have nothing”, “run to you” and “queen of the night”.

Whitney Houston’s “I will always love you “was the soundtrack to The Bodyguard, her film debut. The song was originally written and performed by Dolly Parton in the ’70s.

Mathew Lopez who is a Tony nominated playwright will write the remake. The cast is yet to be set for the remake. The production will be executive produced by Nick Reynolds.

Lawrence Kasdan of Kasdan Pictures wrote and produced the original film. He has been confirmed as the producer of the new film as well alongside Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich.

The 1992 thriller was about a singer and actor (Rachel) who receives threats from a stalker. The stalker is obsessed with her. (Frank), an ex secret service becomes her bodyguard. She falls in love with him.
