Interest of men in the beauty industry has escalated in recent years. Not only are men taking care of themselves e.g., through pedicures, manicures, facials and the like but the once female dominated industry of make-up has now become rampant among men. Reagan Ndirangu , ‘‘Rigo”, is notable in the industry; his work is remarkable and precedes him.

Q. HOW DID YOU BECOME A MAKE-UP ARTIST
A. I have always been a stun for all that glitz and glam life, even as a kid I would watch runways and just get goosebumps; just seeing how gorgeous the models looked so I guess that kinda came to play in me finding myself with such a love for being a part of that process of making people feel and look beautiful.

Q. DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE
A. Well, my style of makeup is usually very “proper” very classy you know, I really don’t intend it to come out that way, but almost all the looks I do come out very Oscar red carpet lol!!! Yeah, but seriously I enjoy doing that very dinner at the Villarosa fancy look, I also once in a while go wild and get creative and just create looks from my imagination, which I and a lot of people end up loving.

Q. BIGGEST MISONCEPTIONS ABOUT MALE MAKE UP ARTISTS
A. Hahaha! I don’t really know, are there any? I have one that’s not a misconception but 100% true, male MUAS are professionals, most of us live out our fantasies through our clients so if it’s an event we’re preparing you for, we do it like we are the ones going, at least I do.

A. Skin care skin care skin care, I cannot say it enough times, I know that make up is usually a quick fix to you know cover and conceal, but it’s that much more important to prevent that to cure right? This is why I don’t stop asking parents to introduce skin care to their children as early as possible, do your research as a parent make it a routine for them, let them grow into it, So Even away from having that serum and moisturizer under your make up , make it a routine to take care of your skin , it pays you off , I can attest to that.
