South African music star, Sho Madjozi has said that despite Bongo Flava artists doing well on the Amapiano side, she would like to see them continue to perform their own genre ‘Bongo Flava’.
She said this at the listening party of Extended Playlist (EP) by Diamond Platnumz ‘First of All’.
Sho said she loved the EP, which contains Afro beats, Bongo Flava, Afropop, Amapiano, Zouk and Soukus.
I also like Bongo Flava, I really like Tanzanian artists performing Bongo Flava again, I know Amapiano is everywhere but it is also nice that every country has its own style. Tanzanians performing Amapiano is very interestingSho Madjozi.
Amapiano music started in 2012 in Gauteng, South Africa, however there has been controversy over the exact origin of the music. Some say it started in the suburbs of Johannesburg – Soweto and then spread all over.
Amapiano has gained immense popularity in Africa and all over the World.
