Tina Turner has died at the age of 83.

Iconic vocalist Tina Turner, widely recognized as the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” passed away on Wednesday at the age of 83.
She had been battling an illness at her residence in Küsnacht, Switzerland.
In a statement, Bernard Doherty, her spokesperson in the U.K., expressed the loss of a music legend and a role model to the world.

Born as Ann Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, in Nutbush, Tennessee, Turner rose to prominence in the late 1960s as the lead singer of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, a group she formed alongside her husband, Ike Turner.
Her debut record, “A Fool in Love,” was released in July 1960.

Her family said in a statement that the “Queen of Rock & Roll” “died peacefully” after a “long illness,” according to Rolling Stone.
