South African actor Mpho Sebeng tragically passed away in a car accident on Sunday morning at the age of 31.

Sebeng was widely recognized for his outstanding performances in popular TV series such as Netflix’s “Miseducation,” “Ring of Lies,” “Savage Beauty,” and “The Queen.”
His remarkable talent earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the Safta awards in 2018.
In a statement released by his family on Sunday evening, they confirmed the heartbreaking news of Sebeng’s untimely demise.
The family of the South African entertainer, Mpho Sebeng, are saddened to confirm, to the public and media, that their son has indeed passed away,
Mpho met his untimely death in the early hours of Sunday, 5 May 2024, due to a tragic car accident in Potchefstroom.
Whilst the family appreciates the immense outpouring of love and condolences, the family requested some space to process the news.
Born in Soweto on December 1, 1992, Sebeng attended West Ridge High School, where he excelled in drama, earning full colors.
His impressive career in the entertainment industry included roles in films such as “Winnie,” “Collision,” and “The Jakes are Missing,” for which he received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the AMVCA awards in 2017.
Following the news of his passing, tributes from colleagues in the industry and fans flooded social media platforms on Sunday and continued into Monday, honoring Sebeng’s talent and mourning his sudden loss.
