The acclaimed Netflix series “Baby Reindeer” has dominated global charts for several weeks.
Based on the true story recounted by writer and protagonist Richard Gadd, the show revolves around the plight of struggling comedian and bartender, Donny.
His life takes a dark turn when he encounters a seemingly harmless woman who claims to be a lawyer. Offering her a complimentary cup of tea, Donny unwittingly invites obsession into his life as the woman, named Martha and portrayed by Jessica Gunning, becomes obsessed him.
As Martha’s obsession intensifies, she unleashes a relentless campaign of harassment upon Donny, infiltrating every aspect of his life.
She stalks him at home and work, terrorizes his family, inflicts violence upon his girlfriend, and forces him to confront a traumatic past. Donny’s trauma stems from being sexually abused by a man who had promised to fulfill his dreams, a harrowing ordeal that resurfaces under Martha’s relentless pursuit.
Jessica Gunning’s portrayal of Martha has garnered widespread acclaim, with many lauding her performance as nothing short of phenomenal. Anticipation runs high for potential awards recognition for her performance in the series.
In an unexpected twist, the real-life Martha, Fiona Harvey, has vehemently denied the allegations made against her by Richard Gadd in the series. In a recent appearance on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Harvey refuted claims of obsession and harassment, branding Gadd a liar driven by monetary gain.
She told Piers;
I didn’t write him the emails, he probably made them up himself,
I’ve no idea. He is psychotic. It is a work of fiction.
She even issued a threat of legal action against Netflix, the creator of the show.
His message to Richard Gadd;
Leave me alone please, get a life, get a proper job,
am horrified at what you have done,
He asked me to sleep with him with a big grin on his face at one time and I declined. He asked would I like my curtains fixed and I told him I had a boyfriend. I don’t fancy little boys without jobs. I gave him a brush off
She adds;
I like to have 4-6 emails. I like to keep people on different phones. Yeeah I have 4 phones..
