Melvin Alusa has revealed that he is leaving his role as Melchizedek on the television series ‘Salem’ mainly due to unfavorable working conditions.
Alusa’s ability to perform his duties effectively has been hindered by unprofessional conduct on the set he says; despite his prior experience working on multiple screens and stages both domestically and globally.
Having been a cast member of the Showmax/Maisha Magic series for a year, Melvin Alusa has made the decision to resign from his role.
As you may be aware I have been on the Maisha magic series SALEM, playing MELCHIZEDEK for the past year. However, I have now resigned from this position due to unacceptable work conditions,
I am dedicated to my craft and have honed and mastered my skills for close to 2 decades. I must, therefore, preserve and protect it jealously.
I unfortunately couldn’t bear the toxic work environment anymore.
The bad leadership, emotional blackmail, gas-lighting, manipulation and health hazards, led to an environment that became impossible for me to perform my role as an Actor, and to deliver powerful moments to the role and story as a whole.
It’s at this point that I felt the need to leave with my dignity intact and my head held high.
