Prime Video’s upcoming film “Cassandro” has unveiled its new trailer, featuring a surprise appearance by none other than Bad Bunny.
Directed by Roger Ross Williams, the biographical drama stars Gael García Bernal in the lead role of Saúl Armendáriz, the renowned gay wrestler known by his ring name, Cassandro.
The narrative is set against the backdrop of the early 1980s, where Cassandro resides in Texas but frequently partakes in lucha libre matches across the border in Mexico. A pivotal point in his journey comes with a new trainer, leading him to adopt the persona of an exótico—a flamboyant male wrestler who competes in elaborate feminine attire.
In the trailer, Bad Bunny graces the screen alongside Bernal.
While details about his character, Felipe, remain under wraps, speculation arises that he may embody a potential romantic interest for Cassandro.
Interestingly, Bad Bunny’s connection to the wrestling world goes beyond the silver screen.
The singer has ventured into WWE on several occasions, even participating in matches.
His presence on the acting stage has also been on the rise, exemplified by his appearance in the 2022 action comedy “Bullet Train.”
The film’s ensemble cast features not only Gael García Bernal and Bad Bunny but also includes Roberta Colindrez, Perla De La Rosa, Joaquín Cosío, and Raúl Castillo.
