Showmax Crime Drama Series ‘Faithless’ has 10 Episodes, all of them are now available for streaming on Showmax.
The Showmax crime drama series, Faithless, has concluded its 1st season, making all 10 episodes available for streaming.
In the final episode titled “For Thine Is The Kingdom”, directed by King Muriuki, the conflict between Cain and Detective Dan reaches its bloody climax as Ruth, Esther, Deborah and Hope’s lives fall into total chaos, reaching irreversible turning points.
Over the course of 10 weeks, Faithless held its position as one of Showmax’s top 10 most-watched titles.
The series delved into the descent of four church women into a life of crime, highlighting how even the most virtuous individuals can be led astray under certain circumstances.
Faithless kicks off with a heist, leading to a duffel bag filled with cash landing in the hands of Ruth (Beatrice Mwai), Deborah (Avril Nyambura), Hope (Fatma Mohammed), and Esther (Rosemary Waweru).
Initially, their intentions are noble: they turn the money in to the police and continue with their lives, carrying out charity work and fundraising for their ‘chama’.
However, a tragedy within the church forces them into a pact with the devil, specifically with Cain (Aleks Kamau), the owner of the stolen money who seeks a discreet way to “clean” his cash.
Suddenly, Ruth and her companions find themselves deeply involved in laundering drug money and other illicit activities, all within the confines of the church compound.
Throughout the season, these four friends undergo significant transformations.
From Deborah’s naivety leading to dire consequences, to Esther losing her faith, and Hope paying the highest price, their journey is marked by challenges. Yet, Ruth’s moral decline and descent into sin surpasses them all, particularly because she starts out as the most righteous among them, being the pastor’s wife. She’s the figurehead in the congregation, offering guidance and solace.
As events unfold, it becomes clear that she’s entangled in a web of deception and crime, even being connected to a tragic death.
With this gripping finale, Faithless paves the way for Second Family, which returns on Thursday, 14 September, with its second season.
