The first official look at Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming spy thriller “Argylle” reveals a film packed with his signature action sequences and an ensemble cast of A-listers.
Henry Cavill and Samuel L. Jackson lead the star-studded lineup, joined by John Cena and Dua Lipa, reuniting after their collaboration on “Barbie.”
The plot centers around super-spy Argylle, portrayed by Cavill, whose life becomes intricately connected with that of reclusive author Elly Conway, played by Bryce Dallas Howard.
As Elly’s Argylle novel series starts mirroring real-life events, a series of high-speed incidents unfold. Elly’s mother, portrayed by Catherine O’Hara, offers an amusing critique, saying, “the book is phenomenal sweetie, but what happens next?”
This leads to the young author (and her cat) becoming embroiled in the actual world of espionage.
According to the description, the film will take viewers on a journey through various global locales, following Argylle’s adventures across the U.S., London, and other exotic destinations.
The star-studded cast also includes Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston and Ariana DeBose.
“Argylle” is filmed for IMAX and is set to premiere in theaters on February 2, 2024.
