Kenyan film ‘Click Click Bang’ made its debut on Netflix on October 8, 2023.
The film, released in 2022, weaves the tale of Kev, a gifted footballer and orphan who assumes the responsibility of caring for his ailing sister when his football dreams are dashed.
Scriptwriter and actor Abel Mutua, in partnership with director and actor Phillip ‘Phil’ Karanja, are reportedly set to receive a substantial payout of at least $60,000 (Sh8.8 million) from the sale of “Click Click Bang,” to Netflix.
Note that this has not yet been confirmed by either Abel or Phil.
If true, this deal represents a significant milestone for the creative duo, as their film has been selected for a rerun on the popular streaming platform.
Abel Mutua revealed that “Click Click Bang” grossed Sh9 million upon its 2022 premiere.
From the movie’s total revenue, Abel and Phil managed to secure a profit of Sh2 million, considering they had invested Sh7 million in production and distribution expenses.
