House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock has been officially cast as Supergirl in James Gunn’s upcoming DC Universe project, Superman: Legacy.
The casting decision was announced in January 2023 as part of the unveiling of new DCU projects, including the confirmation of the Super girl: Woman of Tomorrow movie directed by Gunn.
After rumors circulated about Supergirl’s potential appearance before her solo film, DC Studios conducted auditions, ultimately choosing Milly Alcock, known for her role in House of the Dragon, as the ideal Kara Danvers.
The Wrap reports that Alcock secured the role over actresses Emilia Jones and Meg Donnelly.
James Gunn confirmed Milly Alcock’s casting on META’s Threads, welcoming her to the DCU.
Alcock is expected to debut in Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, followed by her standalone film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
