Elon Musk has expressed his disdain for the Academy Awards, stating that winning an Oscar now signifies winning a contest centered around being “woke.”
Musk shared his sentiments on X on Sunday as the award ceremony unfolded.
He further remarked that when an award loses its significance due to dilution, it no longer commands respect, implying that this might be the case with the Oscars.
Although Musk did not explicitly mention what he found “woke” about this year’s Oscar-nominated films, such as Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” and Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” his dissatisfaction seems to be linked to his broader criticisms of corporate diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
This aligns with his ongoing stance against anything he perceives as “woke.”
The Oscars this year saw some noteworthy moments, including John Cena’s unexpected appearance on stage to present the Best Costume Award, which caused a stir on social media.
Cena was almost naked, covering only his private parts.
