Marvel’s Blade film, starring Mahershala Ali, has lost its second director in two years, with Yann Demange recently exiting the project following Bassam Tariq‘s departure in 2022.
According to reports, Demange’s exit was amicable, occurring weeks ago, and Eric Pearson is now writing the script after several other writers passed on it.
Despite a new release date set for November 7, 2025, the numerous changes have cast doubt on meeting this deadline.
Marvel has four other films scheduled for release before then, including Deadpool & Wolverine this year, and Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and The Fantastic Four in 2025.
Blade was first announced in 2019 and has been in development since.
