Lionsgate and Snoop Dogg have teamed up to produce “1992,” a crime thriller set against the backdrop of the early 1990s’ turbulent times in Los Angeles, particularly during the Rodney King verdict uprising.
Directed by Ariel Vromen and starring Tyrese Gibson, Scott Eastwood, and Ray Liotta in one of his final roles, the film is set to release on August 30.
The screenplay, co-written by Vromen and Sascha Penn, follows Gibson’s character Mercer as he tries to rebuild his life and mend his relationship with his son, played by Christopher Ammanuel.
