WhatsApp has officially unveiled one of its highly anticipated features: message editing.
In a recent Facebook post, Mark Zuckerberg announced that users now have the ability to modify a sent message within a 15-minute window.
To edit a message, simply press and hold on the message and select the edit option to make the desired changes.
Edited messages will be labeled with an “edited” tag next to the time stamp to indicate the modification.
It’s important to note that WhatsApp does not retain a history of corrections, meaning other users won’t be able to view previous versions of edited messages.
We’re excited that you’ll now have more control over your chats, such as correcting misspellings or adding more context to a message.
For this, within 15 minutes of sending the message,
you have to tap and hold that message for a while and then select the option of ‘Edit’ from the menu,”
