DC Studios has unveiled the official trailer for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” marking Jason Momoa‘s return as the titular aquatic superhero.
This film serves as a pivotal chapter in DC Extended Universe’s transition into the new DC Universe.
Following the events of the successful 2018 film “Aquaman,” much of the original cast reprises their roles for this sequel, under the direction of James Wan.
The newly released trailer reveals that “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” picks up four years after the first installment, depicting Arthur Curry (Momoa) in his dual role as a father and the reigning King of Atlantis.
Returning alongside Momoa are familiar faces including Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman, contributing to the continuation of the story that follows the highest-grossing DC film to date.
In “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,”:
The formidable antagonist, Black Manta, fueled by the desire to avenge his father’s demise, reemerges with an even greater determination to bring down Aquaman.
Armed with the formidable Black Trident, Black Manta wields an ancient and malevolent power.
In order to thwart this imminent threat, Aquaman finds himself seeking an unlikely ally in his imprisoned brother, Orm, the former King of Atlantis.
Together, they must put aside their differences to safeguard their kingdom, rescue Aquaman’s family, and prevent irreversible devastation to the world.
