Twitter has introduced a new API tier called Twitter API Pro, designed specifically for startups.

Priced at $5,000 per month, this tier offers developers the ability to fetch 1 million tweets and post 300,000 tweets each month.

It also provides access to the full archive search endpoint.

The announcement of these new pricing tiers came after Twitter’s decision to discontinue its free API tier, although it did offer limited free access of 1,500 tweets per month for content provider bots.

📣 Calling all start-ups 📣

Today we are launching our new access tier, Twitter API Pro!

Experiment, build, and scale your business with 1M Tweets per month, including our powerful real-time Filtered/Stream and Full Archive Search endpoints. We look forward to seeing what you…

Positioned between the basic tier priced at $100 per month and the enterprise tier priced at $42,000 per month, the Twitter API Pro tier aims to cater to startups that are in the process of scaling their business.

Some developers and founders expressed the need for a middle tier between the basic and enterprise options, as the latter may be unaffordable for startups with limited budgets.

Overall, while the Twitter API Pro tier offers enhanced capabilities for startups, the cost involved may still pose challenges for those seeking more affordable options to support their ventures on the platform.

1M tweets for 5k?
-Not enough for international events.
-Too much for most analysis on non-english stars/brands.
-Not enough app IDs to be valuable on rate-limited functions (like GetFollowing)
-Too expensive for the majority of freelancers
…

I don't know who this plan is for.

Idk what kind of "startup" you think wants to spend 5x the cost of their entire infrastructure on your overpriced data
